Welcome back to school!

I sure hope you had a great summer and you are ready to make music again!
Our first day of school is coming soon: Monday, August 24th.
If you are a 7th or 8th grader, please bring your instrument on the first day of school.
If you are new to band, we will figure out what you want to play so you know what to rent on rental night. Important upcoming dates for band are:

AUGUST 25th: Rental night at SHS 6:30 PM
SEPTEMBER 30th: Uniform orders and money due.

Spring Update!

STEP UP NIGHT: Monday, May 4 at Boring Middle School; Tuesday, May 5 at Cedar Ridge Middle School. Sponsored by Beacock Music. We have step up instruments right now in each school for students to try out during class. Here is a link describing what the differences are between a student model instrument and a step up. Students may also check out an instrument to bring it home to show it to you! Please e-mail me or call me to schedule an appointment during Step Up Night to talk to Phil Hodapp from Beacock to discuss details about purchase. Trade-ins are welcome, and payment plans can be discussed.

SPRING CONCERTS: Thursday, May 21 at 7:00 PM at Cedar Ridge Middle School; Thursday, May 28 at 7:00 PM at Boring Middle School. We will be performing music from the movies, as well as music featuring the different instrument sections in our band!

March Concerts for Advanced Band students

March 17th: District 2 Band Festival performance at SHS, time to be announced. Transportation to the event provided. More details will be shared as I receive them.

March 18th: Invitational Concert at SHS. 7:00 PM.

Concert dress is required, and both performances will be graded.
Both concerts are in the SHS auditorium, and are free and open to the public!

Winter Concert Dates!

Cedar Ridge Winter Concert: Thursday, December 11th at 1:20 pm in our gymnasium.
Boring Middle Winter Concert: Thursday, December 18th at 8:20 am in our gymnasium.

Students should plan to either wear their concert clothing to school that day, or bring their concert clothing to change into for our performance. Since it is a "holiday" concert, students may also wear Santa hats, reindeer headbands, scarves, or any other appropriate holiday apparel along with their concert clothing.
We are excited to perform for you again!
